About Jagacha Aikatan
Jagacha Aikatan was initially only “Aikatan” in 1989 when Dipak Chakraborty explored his pursuit of musical excellence and shared it in his community with a dream to musically empower students, starting in his drawing room.
It took more than 35 years to grow into a world-renowned institute. Jagacha Aikatan as an institute now focuses on nurturing students of all ages, by facilitating exploration of layers of Indian Culture as they find their inner light and equip them with Knowledge, Skill and Mind-set to become Artists, Dancers, Musicians, Poets and progress being individuals with a voice.
In this journey Dr. Rupa Chakraborty joined hands in the initial years adding warmth, curating it into a fun, colourful and lively space.
Admission is open all year around, since we believe there’s no correct age and time to start learning. The earlier the better!

OUR AMENITIES
Classrooms:
There are two functional well lit classrooms with large mirrors, doors and windows.
Library:
A rich treasure for students to learn about Indian Culture and other relevant subjects.
Trust:
Jagacha Aikatan has a governing body to supervise and advise it’s functions.
Wordrobe:
There are wordrobes, trucks and lofts with a number of costumes, accessories, decorations, well maintained for students to use.
Waiting aisle:
Comfortable seating area for guardian to wait for their children.
Studio:
Jagacha Aikatan has a 34 X 19 air-conditioned studio accommodating large group classes, workshops and in-house concerts are conducted.
Office:
A functional office for the general administration of the institute.
Instruments:
The institute has a number of Tabla, Pakhwaj, Harmonium, Tanpura, Guitar for teaching-learning purpose.
Kitchen:
There is also a kitchen with a Gas and microwave to facilitate students when they need to.
Guest room:
There is one guest room with a single bed, an attached bathroom with all facilities and a small pantry.
